| Kabayan and the Mummies |
February 06, 2009
A small village lost in the mountains of the Cordillera, where the local people used to mummify the dead people and then put them on caves on top of the mountains.
Kabayan is a quite and isolated village, with very few tourists; the result is a village with polite, friendly and smiling people.
And then a trekking of 5 hours to reach the highest mountain of the valley, to discover 700 years old mummies, an Indiana Jones atmosphere! |

Bontoc, a small mountain village, is used by tourists only to change bus and then go to Sagada or Banaue. But, Bontoc is a nice place to spend a day: many small local shops, a small market, and a lovely museum where a real Ifugao village has been built. |

Banaue is famous for the amazing mountains cut as terraces. These terraces are more than 2000 years old, and they are still cultivated with rice and vegetables. The view of the valley and the terraces full of water, ready for the rice plants, is breath-taking. |

February 21, 2009
Port Barton, on Palawan Island, is a small fishermen village (opening now to the tourism, and already changing the people of the village!), connected to the main road only by one bus per day. The beaches and the islands are nice, but the snorkeling is not so good.
A nice place to stay for a couple of days, especially if you want to rest and lie at the sun! |

| Coron (Palawan Island) |
March 11, 2009
Even if at first sight Coron town seems not so nice and interesting, the surroundings and the islands are simply wonderful. Blue water lakes closed inside the mountains, pool of hot spring waters, lagoons and white sand beaches, and for those who like snorkeling, a rich underwater world full of fishes and colorful corals. |
| Bohol |
March 18, 2009
The island of Bohol is famous for the "Chocolate Hills, strange rounded hills with a brown chocolate color in the dry season, and the Tarsier, one of the smallest primate. Unfortunately this lovely animal with huge eyes is enraged. |
| Malapascua Island |
March 24, 2009
Malapascua, a small island at the north end of Cebu Island, is the perfect place for divers or for whoever loves to rest and sunbath in front of the sea. Some short walks around the island, searching for secluded beaches, some snorkeling, some sea-urcing fishing,...and not a lot more to do... |
| Food in Philippines |
March 30, 2009
Some typical food you can eat in the Philippines! Of course, each meal is served with a plate of rice.
In the Philippines the portion of meat is usually quite big, while it is difficult to find a vegetarian meal! To suggest are the "eat all you can" buffets, where for cheap price you can taste and eat many different things. |
