Semenggoh Rehabilitation Centre

The Semenggoh Rehabilitation Centre was established in 1975 to rehabilitate wild animals that have been injured, orphaned in the wild or handicapped by prolonged captivity, with the objective of subsequently releasing them back to the wild. The centre cares for mammals, birds and reptiles; however it is the orang utan rehabilitation programme that has made the centre famous. Many orang utans have been successfully reintroduced into their natural habitat.
